I’d been vaguely interested in visiting Saudi Arabia for a while, but could never find any specific activity that I wanted to do there. After much consideration, I decided that the best way to experience the country was by first spending a couple days in Riyadh and then getting a one-way car rental and doing a 4-day road trip from there to Jeddah. Pictured above is roughly the route that was taken. Admittedly, I don’t really have much to say about the experience. It was more visual than anything, thus the lack of commentary here on this page. According to the financial news portal Arqaam, as of 2025, 77% of the total workforce in Saudi Arabia (roughly 14.1 million people) is comprised of foreign workers.
