- I’d been vaguely interested in visiting Saudi Arabia for a while, but could never find any specific activity that I wanted to do there. After much consideration, I decided that the best way to experience the country was by first spending a couple days in Riyadh and then getting a one-way car rental and doing a 4-day road trip from there to Jeddah. Pictured above is roughly the route that was taken. Admittedly, I don’t really have much to say about the experience. It was more visual than anything, thus the lack of commentary here on this page. To see the country how I saw it, I’d recommend watching the YouTube video embedded at the bottom of the page.

According to the financial news portal Arqaam, as of 2025, 77% of the total workforce in Saudi Arabia (roughly 14.1 million people) is comprised of foreign workers.
